Applied Yoga Teachings: Yoga and Anxiety
Anxiety is a familiar experience for most of us. For some, it's butterflies in the stomach; for others, it's full-blown panic attacks. Some of us experience it in certain situations or as a result of specific triggers, while some of us experience what is known as generalized anxiety. Anxiety involves both physical and mental components, making yoga therapy an ideal approach. This workshop will examine anxiety from a clinical perspective and a yoga perspective and identify tools and concepts from yoga that can be useful in recognizing, managing and decreasing anxiety. It is appropriate for therapists who work with those dealing with anxiety, as well as friends or family and everyone who struggles with anxiety themselves.
