30 Day Challenge. You in?

I am setting an intention that I want you all to know. I am working towards opening up a studio in 2014 at my home in Rainier Beach! We are currently working on the blueprints and meeting to discuss permits in the next week or so. Stay tuned for more about my intentions, hopes and dreams for this project!

Now…for my challenge to you. A few years ago I was challenged to sit in meditation every day for 30 days. I was at a point in my spiritual path where I desired to meditate, but I did not have the discipline. This encouragement, along with the fact that I was not doing it alone, helped me complete that 30-day challenge. In November that will be 3 years ago, and I have meditated virtually every day since.

Here is what I have noticed from a daily meditation practice: more patience with myself and others, more compassion with myself and others, more focus, more ease with stress, more awareness of myself and others, increased ability to regulate my emotions, and more of a sense of peace in life. In general, I feel it’s way easier to go with the flow of myself and the world.

Do you want to give it a try? Let me know and I will create a FB group where we can stay connected about how the challenge is going. We’ll support and encourage each other and be in community as we are trying to create a new habit!

If meditation is new to you, here are a few suggestions:
*Start small. Do 10 minutes a day.
*Pick one meditation style and stick with it for the 30 days.
Not sure which style to pick? Check out the guided meditations on my website. If you like being guided, you can do the same meditation every day for the next 30 days!
*Pick a time that works for you and try to stick with that time. Creating structure and a schedule can help us succeed in our goals.
*If you miss a day, try try again. Missing a day does not equal failure; it just means you missed a day. You can recommit the following day.

If you have questions let me know. I’m excited to hear from you!

I look forward to seeing you on or off the mat soon and invite you to listen to my latest guided meditation. This month is a 10 minute walking meditation. Enjoy!
